LOWELL ORGANIZER
MEJA is seeking a community organizer to engage the community around issues relating to education justice and equity to work with the Lowell Education Justice Alliance table (“LEJA”). LEJA is part of the Massachusetts Education Justice Alliance - Education Fund is a coalition of member organizations led by youth, parents, educators and community members and together we advocate for and protect high-quality public education for all students. We are an anti-racist organization and center BIPOC and people most impacted at the heart of our work.
The organizer will collaborate closely with the MEJA community organizer and members of LEJA to build and organize a community budgeting initiative to educate members and the community on the education budgeting process and how we can impact and influence the district's spending priorities.
LYNN ORGANIZER
The Lynn Education Justice Alliance (LEJA) is seeking a grassroots, community organizer to build capacity, infrastructure and communications for LEJA and organize towards common educational equity goals.
This role is meant to support, grow, and build the Lynn table by taking on coordination, outreach, and training with LEJA and Massachusetts Education Justice Alliance (MEJA) spaces. This person is meant to help encourage and develop leaders to take on the organizing work necessary to also grow and build a local coalition table, this job is not meant to take on every and all piece of the work necessary to having a successful, community grounded coalition space.
WORCESTER ORGANIZER
The Worcester Education Justice Alliance (WEJA), an affiliated table of the Massachusetts Education Justice Alliance (MEJA), is seeking a grassroots, community organizer to build capacity, infrastructure and communications for WEJA and organize towards common educational equity goals.
This position will collaborate closely with WEJA and MEJA’s organizers to build capacity and a diverse, community centered educational justice movement in Worcester. The Community Organizer’s key responsibilities include leading the organizing work around the WEJA’s priorities, developing and strengthening relationships with community organizations, and holding space to enable community members (especially parents, youth and community members from our most impacted groups) to contribute, engage and co-lead work. The organizer will also collaborate with local groups working on educational justice and table organizers around the state. This role is meant to support, grow, and build by taking on administrative work, recruitment, trainings, and coordination between local and statewide MEJA spaces. This person is meant to help encourage and develop leaders to take on the organizing work necessary to also grow and build a local coalition table. This role is not meant to take on every and all piece of the work necessary to having a successful, community grounded coalition space.
